NatureMaker proudly announces our latest installation at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum located in Hollywood, California. Madame Tussaud’s exhibit commemorates the lifetime achievement of Patrick Swayze, a celebrated American actor and dancer. In late 2009, Patrick Swayze passed away from his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of fifty-seven.

Madame Tussaud’s gave honorary recognition to the life and tragic death of Swayze, as Swayze’s widow Lisa Neimi unveiled the completion of his life-sized wax figure in Hollywood. The wax figure portrays Swayze as Johnny Castle, his iconic character from the classic 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

NatureMaker has been privileged to contribute to the Patrick Swayze exhibit by providing two customized hand-crafted tall oak trees. The two (2) 10’ tall oak trees have light canopies of branches and foliage which serves as the mural backdrop to the display. The exhibit is a recreation of the infamous forest scene from Dirty Dancing, in which Johnny Castle teaches his love interest Baby dance moves on a fallen log.

NatureMaker proudly recognizes our collaborative installation with Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum to honor Patrick Swayze’s memory and influence in Hollywood. Fans can now view the Patrick Swayze exhibit at Madame Tussaud’s and relive the beloved film.

The tallest tree is 9 feet tall with a 12 foot canopy, while the shorter two trees stand 8 feet tall with a 10 foot canopy. Catch a glimpse of our work in the video below.

Our engineering and design team enjoy creating steel art trees for various settings. Our three beautiful acacias were specifically designed to withstand the demands of the heavily trafficked indoor water park. Though they are works of art, these trees are durable and will provide year round greenery in this unique venue.

What a great way to beat the winter blues!

A recent trend in interior design revolves around bringing the outdoors inside. As homeowners upgrade their nests, they are incorporating organic elements into their décor – natural flooring, wall motifs and murals of shells, trees and flowers, reclaimed woods in furniture, and even scent-scaping to reflect the outside world.

With roots in the green movement, this design trend is one which is born of a human longing to reconnect with nature. That can be hard for many as more and more people discover the convenience of urban living; however, the two are not mutually exclusive.

Though small gestures can include elements of the outdoors inside, home owners can create a dramatic interior landscape with a custom-designed, handcrafted tree sculpture from NatureMaker. Constructed from 50-75% recycled material and fashioned as a lasting artwork, NatureMaker’s creations are durable and require minimal maintenance. An added benefit – the trees are nonallergenic and nontoxic to humans, unlike their natural counterparts. NatureMaker lives up to its name as the company preserves and promotes the natural environment it so beautifully emulates.

Though it is hard to believe, spring and summer are around the corner. If you’d like your home to reflect the beauty of nature indoors, consider a one-of-a-kind tree sculpture designed to your specifications. NatureMaker looks forward to working with you in 2012.
